Michael Alan Kenney
July 20th, 1947 - February 18th, 2015
Michael Alan Kenney passed away on February 18, 2015 at the age of 67 from complications from a stroke; he was a resident of St. Petersburg, FL. Mike was born on July 20, 1947 in Washington DC and graduated from Wheaton (MD) High School in 1966. He then served in the U.S. Air Force. Mike worked with distinction for Northwest Airlines for over 42 years, receiving numerous awards and letters of recognition. Prior to moving to St. Petersburg, Mike was a long-time resident of Falls Church, VA. He served as an usher and was an active member of the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington, VA; he was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Raymond M. Kenney, Jr. Mike is survived by his mother, Martha Kenney, and eight siblings: Jeffrey Kenney (Christina Kenney), Chip Kenney (Dana Carpenter), Bob Kenney (Dawn Kenney), Jane Underwood (Tom Underwood), Joan Tatreau (Kevin Tatreau), Julie Glisson (Jeff Glisson), Mary Kay Brady (Scott Brady) and Kevin Kenney (Heather Kenney). He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews, and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in Omaha, NE. Mike had a lifelong love of music, dancing and classic TV comedies. He was a loyal and caring friend of many and was devoted to his dog of many years, Ellie. Mike will be remembered fondly as a gentle man who was quick with a hardy hello and kind words. Every day, Mike lived the values of his faith, shunning material goods while giving generously to others. Mike was the most loving and loved son, brother, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Rest well 'Ole Boy,' we will miss you.
