March 12th, 1914 - March 31st, 2003
Getchis, Mary Catherine Tuite, 89, of St. Petersburg, died Monday March 31, 2003. She was born in Janesville, Wisconsin. She came here in 2001 and attended St. Raphael?s Catholic Church. Mary graduated from Adelphi College, Garden City, New York, in 1936. She lived and raised four children in Mountainside, New Jersey. She was a member of the Rosary Society at Our Lady of Lord?s Catholic Church, and extensively volunteered for the Rosary Shrine in Summit, NJ. During the ?50?s and ?60?s, she was an active member of the University Womens Association of Westfield, NJ. Survivors include one son, Philip C. Getchis of Stockton, NJ; two daughters, Joanne Hartlaub, of New York, NY and Mary Alice Bolline of St. Petersburg; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions in her name to the Brain Institute of the University of FL, Human Brain Tissue Bank, P.O. Box 100015, Gainesville, FL 32610.
