March 6th, 1924 - May 27th, 2003
Van Voorhis, Robert L., 79, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday May 27, 2003. He came here in 1949 from his native, Fishkill, New York. He was a sharp shooter with the Army Air Corp during WWII and received the Good Conduct and Meritorious Achievement awards. He was a retired conductor with the CSX Railroad. He loved flying and motorcycles and was a member of the Museum of History and was on the Board of Directors of the Florida Military Aviation Museum. He is survived by a son, E. Brinton Van Voorhis of Largo; a daughter, Mary Margaret Robinson of St. Petersburg; a brother, Charles Van Voorhis of Fishkill, NY; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
