September 12th, 1912 - June 27th, 2003
Barfield, Carlton C. ?Carl?, 90, of St. Petersburg, died Friday June 27, 2003 at home under the care of Hospice. He was a native of St. Petersburg, an Army veteran of WWII and retired a professional driver. He drove for the City of St. Petersburg streetcars, and in the 1940?s, he drove for Florida Motor Lines, which later became Greyhound Bus Lines, serving them for 20 years. He then drove for a local sightseeing bus company and for an airport limo service just before retirement. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie L.; two daughters, Susan M. Kingsley of South Pasadena and Beverly C. Bitting of Wellborn, Florida; two sons, Carl A. Barfield and Donald L. Barfield both of St. Petersburg; a sister, Eunice Eiger of St. Petersburg; a granddaughter, Dawn Bednar of Largo and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of The Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770.
