Taylor, Carolyn Douthat - Prize-winning reporter for World Telegram and Sun for 25 years died Aug. 28 in St. Petersburg, Fla. at 89. She was among the journalism students expelled from Louisiana State in the ?30s when the school newspaper criticized political boss Huey Long. In 1957 she was the only journalist to sail on maiden U. S. voyage of Mayflower II. Born in Clinton, Missouri, she came here in 1995 from New York, NY. She was a member of the Silurnians journalism organization. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Taylor Martin, foreign correspondent for St. Petersburg Times; grandson Steven and a great-granddaughter. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
