Cassaro, Mary, 100, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday September 16, 2003 at her daughter?s home. She arrived at Ellis Island, NY in 1914 from her native Carini, Sicily. She came here in 1967 from Brooklyn, NY. She was a retired specialty machine operator for a garment manufacturing company in Manhatten, NY and belonged to the I.L.G.W.U. International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic church and the Transfiguration Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include one daughter, Rosette C. Walsh, Treasure Island, FL; one sister, Ann Siragusa, St. Petersburg; one cousin, Mary Orlando, Clearwater, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 2:00PM until 4:00PM and from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel, 2201-9th St. N., where a Prayer Vigil Service will be held on Friday at 7:30PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30AM at the Transfiguration Catholic Church, 4000 43rd St. N. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
