Andrew Billings Factor

Factor, Andrew Billings ?Drew?, 24, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday October 18, 2003. A native of St. Petersburg, he graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1997 where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta a math honor society, and the Spanish Honor Society and received the Pride Award for Math. Also at St. Petersburg High School he was crowned Prom King, was a chosen ?HERO? and was a member of the Soccer and Golf teams. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor?s Degree in Economics where he was a Florida Academic Scholar played intramural soccer and football and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and Eta Sigma Phi Classical Honors Fraternity. He was in the process of completing his second degree when he was asked by the Navy to join the Naval Officer?s School. He was an Ensign in the U. S. Navy and was a recent graduate of the Power School of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program. He was a roll model for all who knew him. His father, Regis A. Factor, was a professor at the University of South Florida for 28 years and died four years ago of Lou Gehrig?s Disease ALS. He is survived by his mother, Deborah Factor of St. Petersburg; a brother, Daniel Factor of Virginia; two aunts and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Traditional Latin Mass at Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle or In Memory of Andrew Factor Memorial Fund at St. Petersburg High School.
