Bahr, Dorothy, age 97, of St. Petersburg, FL, died at Westminster Palms in St. Petersburg on November 14, 2003. Born on April 19, 1906 in Detroit, Michigan, , she moved to St. Petersburg from Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1968. She attained a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University School of Music in Evanston, IL, did graduate study work in piano at the American Conservatory in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of Delta Zeta and received honors from Mu Phi Epsilon and Pi Kappa Lamda. She taught at Hillcrest School for Girls in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She was a choir director at First Baptist Church in Waukesha, was a founder of Waukesha Symphony, a member of Music Study Club, YWCA, and also a member of the Chapter AQ of P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was the State President of Wisconsin Baptist Women. She served the American Baptist denomination on the Board of International Ministries, was White Cross Chairwoman; she sat as the Oratorio Committee Chairwoman for Jubilee Celebration, and served in the National Council of American Baptist Women-Christian Service Division. After moving to Florida, she was active in the American Baptist Church of the Beatitudes, was a member of the Chapter CB of P.E.O Sisterhood and also Koinonia Fellowship. She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Frueh of Pittsburgh, PA; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
