Walker, Jack ?Smilin? Jack?, 89, of St. Petersburg, FL died Friday, January 9th, 2004 at home under the care of hospice. He was born in Terre Haute, IN and moved to St. Petersburg in 1958. He was a member and elder of Palm Lake Christian Church and also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bryson City, NC. He was awarded Layman of the Year for the State of Florida in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Carol Cottingham of Collinsville, IL; a son, Jerry A. Walker, Sr. of St. Petersburg; a brother, Frank G. Walker of Terre Haute, IN; 2 stepsons: Walter Robison and Ronald Eike, both of St. Petersburg; a stepdaughter, Robin Champagne of Bryson City, NC; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 14th at Palm Lake Christian Church, 5401 22nd Ave. N., St. Petersburg at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Dr., Largo, FL 33770.
