Iwan Pawluk
July 5th, 1919 - January 26th, 2004
Pawluk, Iwan, 84, or Largo, died Monday January 26, 2004 at Tandem Health Care of St. Petersburg. Born in Kharkiw, Ukraine, he immigrated to the USA in 1949. The first thing he and his wife saw was the Statue of Liberty. With his knowledge of farming and animal husbandry, the family found work on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and then moved to Baltimore. He helped sponsor, settle and support many post WWII immigrants. He retired as a 1st Machine Man from Domino/Amstar Sugar Refinery in Baltimore, MD after 28 years of service. He tirelessly served his church for 50+ years and was founder, board member, and elder of St. Michaels Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Baltimore, MD; Holy Protection Church, Dover, FL and several other churches in post WWII Germany. He moved to Largo in 1984 from Minneapolis, Minn. He had a great heart and was a solid and steady support to his family and friends. Vichna Pamyat. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Motria; two daughters: Valentina Yarr, Minneapolis, MN; and Anna Flanders, Largo, FL; four grandchildren: Olga Jakubowski Dr. Paul of Clermont, FL; Natalia Yarr, Minneapolis, MN; Valentina Washchuk Bohdan, Minneapolis, MN; and Halina Yarr, Minneapolis, MN; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Jakubowski. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
