Marjorie Coley Meldrim
August 20th, 1906 - February 9th, 2004
Meldrim, Marjorie Coley, 97, of Seal Beach, CA and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Monday February 9, 2004 at Country Villa nursing home in Seal Beach. Born in Spencer, NC, she came to St. Petersburg in 1923 from Savannah, GA, then moving to California in 2000. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1925. She was an involved member of First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, the Victory Sunday School Class, Nursery helper, and 5th grade Sunday School Class teacher. She was a Life Member of the Women?s Society of Christian Service. She served as President of the Clearview Elementary School Parent Teacher Association from 1948-1949 and received a Life time membership in the Florida Congress of the PTA. She served with the Pinellas County Extension Service as a Leader of the Clearview Elementary 4-H Club. Survivors include a son, Kenneth H. Meldrim, Jr., Largo; four daughters: Ann Bailey, Brooksville, FL; Patricia Hornbuckle, FL; Judy Lucas, Port St. Joe, FL; and Madge Armstrong, Seal Beach, CA; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great granddaughters. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
