James, Verne, ?Honey?, 94, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday February 14, 2004 at home under hospice care. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1942 from her native Covington, KY. She was Methodist and an avid bowler. Survivors include, two daughters: Dona Brown and Patricia Walls; and daughter-in-law, Sakae James, all of St. Petersburg; one brother, Bud Sheriff, Boca Raton, FL; two sisters: Virginia Green and Mary Schneider both of Kentucky; four grandchildren: Don Brown and wife Karen, of Texas; Jay Gregg and wife Barbara, Jim Brown and wife Debbie, and Laura Nichols, all of St. Petersburg; six great- grandchildren: Meghan Brown, Texas; Janice Sheppard, Jennifer Sheppard, Jacob Gregg, Lisa Marie Brown and Rachel Brown, all of St. Petersburg. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
