Ellie "Eleanor" M. Frazier
May 18th, 1929 - March 28th, 2015
Frazier, Eleanor, "Ellie", of St. Petersburg passed away March 28, 2015 at home. She was born and raised in Washington, D.C., the only daughter of Russell and Mary Mathiot. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Lee V. Frazier. She is survived by her daughters, Dinah Frazier and Mary Anne Van Name (Mark); her two grandchildren, Sarah and Scott; and her goddaughter Barbara Pinson. She graduated from Teddy Roosevelt "Rough Riders" High School where she first met Lee, who she later married. After high school, she graduated from Sullins College with a degree in interior design. She married Lee Vernon Frazier on December 28, 1950. As the wife of an Army Officer, she and the family moved often and traveled extensively. While living in Bangkok, Thailand, Ellie was involved with a puppet group that put on various shows, including one for the Queen of Thailand. The family settled in St.Petersburg in 1969 where her father was living. Ellie was actively involved as a docent with the Museum of Fine Arts for many years, where she was a member of the Stuart Society and served as the President for one term. She was also devoted to St. Thomas Episcopal Church where she served in the kitchen, needlepoint, and flower guilds. She was an active member and treasurer of the Questers Society. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She will be missed.
