MELA, EDITH STONE, 83, of St. Petersburg, died, Thursday, March 4th, at Edward White Hospital. Born in Plant City, FL, she came here in 1960. She was a homemaker and active in the Pinellas County Medical Auxiliary, League to Aid Retarded Children now PARC, and for many years served on the Alter Guild of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She was an avid tennis player with the Lakettes at what is now St. Petersburg Country Club. Her husband, Dr. Henry Mela, Jr., passed away in October, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Candace, and a son, Scott, and several nieces and nephews. Anderson McQueen Funeral Home.
