Samuel Ralph Bayless
July 4th, 1919 - April 14th, 2004
Bayless, Rev. Ralph, 84, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday April 14, 2004 at Carrington Place Conv. Center. Born in Knoxville, TN, he came here in 1958 from Paducah, KY. He served in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant during WWII and received the EAME Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon and a Bronze Star. He was the Minister of Music and Minister of Sr. Adults from 1958 until his retirement in 1982. He was a Founding Member and Past President of the Florida Baptist Singing Men. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen R.; two sons: Randy N. Bayless, St. Petersburg; and Steve D. Bayless, Pinellas Park; two sisters: Louise Bayless, Chattanooga, TN; and Helen McElroy, Knoxville, TN; a brother, Bill Bayless, Knoxville, TN; and a grandson, Brandon Bayless, St. Petersburg. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
