Esther M. Hooper
September 15th, 1910 - June 23rd, 2004
Hooper, Esther Isabelle Fairclough Mitchell, was born in 1910 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada and died peacefully on June 23, 2004 in St. Petersburg, FL. Her parents were Priscilla Smith and Charles Augustus Mitchell. The youngest of five children, Esther lived at home until her parents died. In 1944, she moved to Boston where her sister Gussie lived and Esther became a U. S. citizen after marrying Charles Hooper. She made many friends at Little Brown Publishing where she worked for many years and loved Boston. In 1962, she and Charlie moved to St. Petersburg, FL. They traveled extensively throughout the world and enjoyed their own home on 25th Avenue North. Her friends at the ?Y? will remember her well. She was predeceased by her siblings, Augusta, Harry, Bobby and George. She leaves to mourn three nieces, Elizabeth MacKay, Rosamund Irwin & Rebecca Crowe as well as five great nieces, two great nephews, and one great-great nephew.
