Vermette, Benoit Joseph ?Ben?, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday June 29, 2004 at Carrington Place Conv. Center. Born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada, he came here in 2002 from Dearborn Heights, Michigan where he retired as a factory worker with General Motors after 25 years of service. He was Catholic and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas in Dearborn Heights. He was an avid dancer. Survivors include two sons: Joe, of St. Petersburg; and Nelson, of Easley, SC; one daughter, Fransois Gentile, of St. Augustine, FL; one sister, Jeanne-Mance St. Pierre, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
