Fred Johnson
February 4th, 1922 - July 26th, 2004
Johnson, Fred, 82, of Kenneth City, died Monday, July 26, 2004 at St. Petersburg General Hospital. Born in Parma, Missouri, he moved here in 1988 from Cloudcroft, New Mexico. He was a retired Sgt. Major with the US Army serving during WWII and Korean conflict. During WWII he landed at Normandy just a few days after D-Day. He was a Platoon Sgt. in a tank destroyer unit in the 3rd Army under General Patton. He was a Mason. He is survived by two sons, Johnnie Rex Johnson of Kenneth City and Rodney F. Johnson of Collierville, Tenn.; a brother, Dale Johnson of Oceanside, Calif. and a granddaughter, Crystal Johnson of Collierville, Tenn.
