Wasson, James A. ?Jim,? 55, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday August 3, 2004 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital of cancer. Born in Harrisburg, IL, he came here in 1999 from Pope County, IL, where he was a member of the Social Brethren Church. He was a United States Naval Air Traffic Controller in Virginia Beach, VA. He had served during the Vietnam War and retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Cave-in-Rock Lodge #444, Cave-in-Rock, IL and the Swords of Bunker Hill in Illinois. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Robin A.; a daughter, Nikole K. ?Niki? Leonberger, Largo; four sons: James A. ?Andy,? Eichorn, IL; David B. ?Dave,? Carrier Mills, IL; Phillip R. ?Phil,? Dyersburg, TN; Jeremy A. ?Jerry,? St. Petersburg; two sisters: Barbara A. Oxford, Rudement, IL; and Una J. Mitchell, Saline County, IL; a brother, Roy D. Wasson, Pope County, IL; and eleven grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
