Stanford, Melvin Ambrose, 89, of St. Petersburg died Saturday August 28, 2004 at Apollo Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Black River, NY, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1956 from Syracuse, NY. He was a retired woodworker and cabinetmaker having been employed by Pinellas Lumber Company in St. Petersburg for 18 years and was an Independent Taxi driver for approximately 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Charlotte M. Stanford; two 2 sons: David Stanford ? St. Petersburg and Clarence Stanford ? Tombstone, AZ; two 2 daughters: Cindy Tergesen ? Largo and Mary Dibble ? Altus, OK; a sister: Bina Weston - Canada; twelve 12 grandchildren and two 2 great grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center ? Ninth St. Chapel.
