Rosell Taylor Pickrel

Pickrel, Rosell Taylor ?Pick,? 96, of Largo, FL, died Sunday September 5, 2004 at home at Pinecrest Place Retirement Community in Largo. He was born in Reidsville, NC, and received his education in Altavista, VA. He founded the Star Vending Corporation in 1937 in Washington, D.C. and came here in 1995 from Arlington, VA following his retirement. He was an active member of the Elks Club and was past Exalted Ruler of the Washington, DC lodge; past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler; past State President of the Maryland, DC and Delaware Associations; and a member of the Grand Lodge Youth Activities Committee. He was also a member of the Stansbury Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners, all of Washington, DC. He was a former member of the Seminole Lake Golf and Country Club and the Bayou Club in Florida and the Tantallon Golf and Country Club in Maryland. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Helen; two daughters; Judie Turner and Brenda Kelly, both of Maryland; a step-daughter, Judy Calderon, Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Wilda Smith of St.l Petersburg and Thelma Blanchard and Evelyn Farmer, both of Altavista, VA; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
