Gingrich, Evelyn Odum, 72, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005, under Hospice care at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Born in Starkville, Mississippi, she came here in 1963 from Detroit, Michigan, where she retired as a nurse at Henry Ford Hospital Oncology Clinic. She was a graduate of Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, where she was involved in The Altar Guild and Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of Lakewood Country Club, now St. Petersburg Country Club; the Museum of Fine Arts; the St. Petersburg Yacht Club; and the American Contract Bridge League. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Wendell G. Gingrich; a daughter, Susan Canton Phillips of Savannah, Georgia; a son, John Michael Canton of Suwanee, Georgia; 4 granddaughters, Christine Harris and Erin Phillips, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ashley Phillips of Savannah, Georgia and Katherine Canton of Suwanee, Georgia; a grandson, Sean Canton of Suwanee, Georgia; and a sister, Helen O. Carbo of Chicago, Illinois. Anderson-McQueen Funeral & Cremation Centers ?N.E. St. Petersburg.
