February 25th, 1919 - March 16th, 2005
Hosage, Fred G., 86, of St. Petersburg and Centereach, New York, died Wednesday March 16, 2005 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA he came here in 1995 from New York. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and was a former Board member of the Middle Country School District in New York. He was retired from Grumman Aerospace on Long Island, where he earned numerous Sterling Awards for on site inventions. He was granted a United States Patent for a Safety Retainer for Model Airplanes in 1991. He created works of art in wood specializing in scale model furniture. He enjoyed word puzzles, reading, and building and flying model aircraft. He was Roman Catholic. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Helen. He is survived by a son, Fred, Centereach, NY, a daughter, Donna Marie Kostreva, St. Petersburg, gradson and his wife, Evan and Elizabeth Kostreva, St. Petersburg and granddaughter, Katherine Kostreva, St. Petersburg, a sister, Suzanne Waskell, Wilkes-Barre, PA and 4 nieces and 7 nephews.
