Janice Eileen Wollmuth Urban (nee Vitko, original spelling was Vitrachenko), 77, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was taken to her heavenly home on August 14th, 2011. Janice was born July 15, 1934 in Douglas, North Dakota to Paul and Lura Vitko (nee Brannon). She grew up in a family of six brothers and one sister. Life was difficult as the family moved often between Benedict, Douglas and rural Minot, ND. Eventually, her parents divorced and Janice moved with three siblings to Portland, Oregon. It was there that she spent time with Roland and Lenora Wollmuth, a loving, kind and generous aunt and uncle. Finally, Janice experienced the love she so deserved. It was also during this time that she met her future husband, Harold. Janice married Harold Wollmuth on July 15, 1951 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Douglas, ND on the day she turned 17 years old. Janice and Harold were blessed with five children whom they raised at the Wollmuth family farm in rural Douglas, ND. All of their five children were baptized in the same church in rural Douglas where she was married, which has been moved to Heritage Park, in Garrison, ND. Harold's parents were married in this church and all his siblings were also baptized there. Janice was an amazing and multi-talented woman who will always be loved and remembered for her many skills - she could do absolutely anything and do it well. Janice designed and made clothing for others as well as the beautiful wedding dresses for both of her daughters and two of her daughter -in- laws. Janice was a relentless reader and raised her children to believe in reading, education and hard work. She never graduated from high school, so she wanted her children to have every possible educational opportunity. She was most proud of her children, their wonderful spouses, her ten grandchildren and her four great grand children. In 1976 Harold and Janice moved to Garrison, North Dakota after the family home on the farm burned. In 1982, Harold and Janice were given an opportunity to move to St. Petersburg, Florida to manage a retirement park built by Janices' Uncle Paul Brannon. These two North Dakota natives made the move to the tropical weather of Florida. After her first husband passed away, Janice married Enoch Urban on April 22, 1989 and found additional happiness and love. Janice was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Douglas, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Garrison, North Dakota and Our Savior Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Robert (JoAnn Bauer) of Buffalo, Wyoming, Steven Carsten (Peggy Krebsbach) of Washburn, ND; Lonnie Paul (Marilynn Hiebert) of Stony Brook, New York; and two daughters, Pamela Louise (William Boger) of Gillette, Wyoming; and Lisa Marie (Philipe Grinstead) of St. Petersburg, Florida. Janice and Harold's 10 grandchildren include Christopher (Lori) Wollmuth, Gretchen Wollmuth, Justin and Steven Boger, Kari (Steven) Williams and Paul Wollmuth, Jacob and Madeline Wollmuth, and Annamarie and Rebekah Grinstead. Four great grandchildren including Lara & Liam Williams and Dylan & Frederick Wollmuth. Brothers, Lyle and Paul Vitko, Lonnie Rovig and brother-in-law, Lorin Wollmuth. Janice was preceded in death by her father (Paul), mother (Lura), husbands Harold Wollmuth, Enoch Urban, granddaughter Jennifer Wollmuth, brothers, James, Lloyd and sister Della Cook.
