Nix, Howard W. Jr., 75, of Naples and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday, April 1, 2005. He was born in East Point, GA and came here in 1969 from Atlanta. He was in banking all his life having been the presidents of several local banks including First Florida, First State Bank, C & S Bank, the former Landmark Bank, all of St. Petersburg. He was a Baptist, past commodore of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, a Suncoaster and former Mr. Sun, Florida Council of 100, past president of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Michele M. Nix of Naples; a daughter, Deborah A. Nix, Nampa, Idaho; a son, Howard W. Nix, III, of Biloxi, MS; two stepdaughters: Angela M. Black, St. Petersburg; and Maureen D. Turner, Beaufort, S.C.; two stepsons: Michael R. Driscoll, Coral Springs, FL; and Daniel T. Driscoll, Oveido, FL; a sister, Barbara N. Harkey, Atlanta; ten grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Anderson-McQueen Funeral and Cremation Center-N.E. St. Petersburg.
