Olson, Sarah Odell Coats, 95, of St. Petersburg, Florida died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at home under the care of Hospice. She had previously lived in Richmond, Virginia and Tappahannock, Virginia. She was born in Benson, North Carolina to Seth Allen Coats and Sarah Hattie Stewart Coats. She was a retired RN, graduating from Sheltering Arms Hospital Nursing School in Richmond, VA. She was a captain in the Army Nurse Corps, serving during WWII in England with the 92nd General Hospital. She is the widow of LTC Clarence O. Olson, US Army Ret. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Prentice Coats, Duncan Stewart Coats and Dennis Coats. She is survived by her son, Stewart O. Olson and her daughter, Janice M. Olson, both of St. Petersburg. She is also survived by her beloved cousins Barbara Berkemeier, Elana Berkemeier and Jenny Bowen. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousins, especially James Donald and Bea Coats of Lillington, NC and their children Patrick Coats of Richmond, VA and Becky Blair of Cary, NC, Douglas and Belle Coats of Chesapeake, VA and Virginia, Reid, and Sharon Penny of Angier, NC.
