BAUER, LOUIS R., JR., 74, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Carrington Place. Born in New Albany, Ind., he served with the Marines in the Korean War. He earned a B.S. in Business from Indiana University and worked as a human resources executive at General Electric, Allis-Chalmers, Fiat-Allis and Hercules, living for several years around Philadelphia, Pa. and Milwaukee, Wisc. After moving to St. Petersburg, he worked for Presbyterian Retirement Communities. He was an Elder of First Presbyterian Church. His interests included golf, history, wine-collecting, and travel. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 54 years; his daughters, Deborah Farrington, St. Petersburg, and Jan Pavlis, Calabasas, Calif.; and his son, John, St. Petersburg; his brothers Richard, Sarasota, and Bernard, New Albany, Ind.; as well as four grandchildren.
