Williams, Sr., Lloyd Eugene ?Gene?, 91, of St. Petersburg died Saturday June 11, 2005 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. He was born in Asheville, NC and moved here in 1938 from Spartansburg, SC. He also maintained a summer residence in Burnville, NC. He was a lifetime deacon, a Sunday School teacher and an interpreter for the deaf. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Low Gap Baptist Church in Burnville, NC and Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut, NC. He was a Gideon and a 32nd Degree Mason. He had worked for Webb City for 13 years as pharmacy manager, had been co-owner of Swanson?s Star Market, and a CLU agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by all three of his children: Lloyd E. Williams, Jr., Richard Lyndon ?Lindy? Williams, and Noranel Neely Dameron. Survivors include his wife of 70 years: Betty; a sister: Mildred Steele ? Asheville, NC; two 2 daughters-in-law: Eileen L. Williams and Barbara A. Williams; six 6 grandchildren: Marshall Williams, Britt Williams, Reace Williams, Brycen Williams, Stan Williams and David Neely; and six 6 great grandchildren: Drayton Neely, Caroline Neely, Drummond Neely, Aidan Williams, Luke Williams, and McKinley Williams.
