Anna Patterson Trakas
November 8th, 1928 - July 8th, 2005
Trakas, Anna Patterson, 76, of St. Petersburg, died Friday, July 8th, 2005 in Tallahassee. She was born in Detroit, MI and came here in 1960 from Spartanburg, SC. She was employed in the office of the Registrar of Eckerd College formerly Florida Presbyterian College where her husband, Dr. Pedro Trakas was a founding faculty member. During the early years of the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society SPIFFS, Anna served as the first Executive Director and was also know as ?the voice of SPIFFS? during the annual folk fair festival. She was a founding member of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, where she was a soloist and organist for the church choir. She is survived by 3 sons, Nyko Trakas of Mountainview, CA, Deno Trakas of Spartanburg, SC, and Christopher Trakas of New York City; 2 daughters, Joanne Baizan of Tampa, and Irene Trakas of Tallahassee; 1 sister, Maria Patterson of Dover, NH; and 4 grandchildren.
