Chapman, Guy, 83, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday March 18, 2006 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. He was born in Spartanburg, SC and moved here in 1959 from Cordele, GA. He attended St. Petersburg Junior College. He was a member of St. Luke?s United Methodist Church, Nitram Lodge #188 F & A Masons, Selama Grotto, and USS Bataan CVL 29 Assocation. He retired from Montgomery Ward in 1984 as Personnel Manager. He retired from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1995 as an evening administrator. He was Metro Director of the National Alliance of Business from 1975-1976. He was Chairperson of the Employment Committee of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce from 1974-1975. He was on the Business Advisory Board of St. Petersburg Junior College from 1973 to 1975. He was on the Business Advisory Board of Pinellas Voc. Tech. Institute from 1975 to 1980. He also served on the American Society for Personnel Administration from 1974 to 1981. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, having served on Aircraft Carrier USS Bataan. He also served in the U. S. Navy Reserve. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Myrtle; his two daughters: Sandra O?Bryant of Largo, FL and Gail Abell of Raleigh, NC; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
