Axt, Charles, Jr. ?Charley,? of St. Petersburg, died Thursday April 6, 2006. Born in New York, NY, he came here in 1975 from San Juan, Puerto Rico and was a retired meat inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He loved boxing and was a former trainer, and was an avid tennis player. He was a music enthusiast and played the flute and guitar. He loved to travel and has traveled all over the world. Survivors include a daughter, Jan L. Horah and a son, Charles M. Axt, both of St. Petersburg; a sister, Dorothy Mitchell, New York, NY; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
