COX, MARVIN LEE ?Buddy?, 70, of St. Petersburg died Friday June 23, 2006 at home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. For the last seven years, he was a Realtor for Coldwell Banker in St. Petersburg. He came to St. Petersburg in 1962 from Valdosta, Georgia, where he was a manager for Beneficial Finance. He was the former owner of Cox & Ramzy, a home remodeling and appliance sales business in Pinellas Park, and Freezer Fillers, a meat market in St. Petersburg. He was a relocation director for Tourtelot Brothers of St. Petersburg from 1988-1999. He was active in the Pinellas Point Civic Association, and in May, was honored by the city of St. Petersburg as a Sunshine Ambassador for his goodwill and contributions to the city. He was an elder at Maximo Presbyterian Church and was an active member of its men?s group. For 30 years, he attended St. Vincent?s Episcopal Church in St. Petersburg, where he served on the vestry and other committees. He was also a member of the St. Petersburg Country Club and the National Republican Party. Born in Seymour, Ind., he was a member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a warrant officer in the Army and served in the Korean War. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Maren; a son, Christopher, Riverview; a daughter, Erin Hunt, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters Patti Cox, Jacksonville, and Peggi Paulsen, St. Petersburg; two nieces, Wendy and Heather Paulsen, St. Petersburg; and three grandchildren, Kayley Cox, and Adam and Morgan Hunt.
