December 2nd, 1933 - October 15th, 2006
Maranto, Barbara Hoch, 72, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday October 15, 2006 at home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Baltimore, MD until moving here in 1964. She was a graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame and Towson University. She was a retired teacher who taught at Gulf Beaches, Childs Park and Southside Fundamental Schools. She also taught at St. Petersburg College, where she developed the course Personal Growth and Interpersonal Relationships. She was a member of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of History, the St. Petersburg Historical Society, and the Florida Preservation Society. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill Maranto, of St. Petersburg; two daughters, De Sales Maranto, of St. Petersburg, and Andrea May, of Winter Haven, FL; and two sons, Mark Maranto, of St, Petersburg, and Luke Maranto, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Andrea Darby, of Baltimore; cousin, Anna Marie Bonder, of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
