Murphy, Dr. Charles C. ?Doc?, 81, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 at home under Hospice care. He was born in Mize, MS and came here in 1953 from Auburn, AL where he graduated from Auburn University with a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine. During WW II he served in the Army Air Corp was a nose gunner in a B24, flying 44 missions. Locally, he owned and operated Lake Seminole Animal Hospital for 29 years, and during that time was also the track Veterinarian at Derby Lane where he served for 40 years. He also was part owner of Coastal Medical Oxygen. He was a 50 year member of Auburn Lodge #76 F&AM in Alabama, the Scottish Rite, Egypt Shrine Temple, Pinellas County Horsemen?s Association, Pinellas County Sheriff?s Department mounted posse, the American Legion, and the Seminole Lake Country Club. He played professional volleyball for the City of St. Petersburg and he was an avid golfer. He is survived by 1 son, Michael of Ft. Lauderdale; 2 daughters, Connie Hutchison of Rock City, IL and Cathy McCamey of St. Petersburg; 6 brothers, Jack, Carl, Joe, Jim, Tommy, and Larry all of MS; 3 grandchildren, Tim, Sarah, and Matthew; and 4 great grandchildren.
