Hadfield, James, Jr. ?Jim?, 70, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, he came here in 2001 from Derry, New Hampshire. He was a retired radio operator with the U.S. Navy having served in Korea and Vietnam. He loved music of all kinds, and is known as ?the squirrel man? because he loved to feed the squirrels. He was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife, Nancy J.; two sons, James Alan Hadfield, Auburn, Maine and Mark Hadfield serving in the US Navy in New York State; 3 stepsons, Raymond A. Pendergast, Jr. of Virginia, Patrick M. Pendergast of Washington, DC, and Timothy S. Pendergast of Raymond, New Hampshire; two sisters, Helen D. Pendergast, St. Petersburg and Sylvia A. Hatem, Salem, NH; two brothers, John W. Hadfield, San Diego, CA and Dr. Arthur Hadfield, Waterford, CT; six grandchildren; three nieces and six nephews.
