Robbins, Doris E. (Dunn), 89 of St. Petersburg passed away July 1, 2015 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center Mid-Pinellas. Born and raised in Lakeland, FL, she came to St. Petersburg after graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Doris taught in the Pinellas County School system for more than 38 years, retiring in 1988. A longtime member of First Baptist Church, Doris taught Sunday School for many years, in both Children and Adult departments. She is preceded in death by her parents, James A., Sr. and Grace W. Dunn; brother, James A. Dunn, Jr.; and daughter, Sharon R. Simmons. Doris is survived by her husband, Harry F. Robbins, Jr.; son, Todd (Donna) Robbins; son-in-law, Verlie Simmons; sister, Frances D. Nicholson, brother-in-law, Robert J. (Betty Lou) Robbins; sister-in-law, Margaret R. Perry; two nieces and one nephew, several great-nieces and nephews, a great-great niece and a great-great nephew. Visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2015, 10am-11am with funeral service at 11am at The First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, 1900 Gandy Boulevard, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg
