Boyle, Dr. John Patrick, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Monday April 23, 2007 at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. Born in Pittsburgh, he grew up in St. Petersburg. He attended St. Paul's High School and St. Petersburg Junior College. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 1941 and a doctorate of medicine from Georgetown University Medical School in 1944. During World World II he served in the Army in Alaska. He returned to St. Petersburg in 1950 from Hilliards, Ohio. His family said he was the first physician anesthesiologist in St. Petersburg, practicing at Mound Park Hospital. He was a member of the American Medical Association, Pinellas County Medical Society, the Squires Club, Friends of the Library, and St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was also active in Music Box Theater and was a supporter of the arts. Survivors include a daughter, Patrice Anne Boyle Novak, Chicago; four sons, John "Jack" Patrick, Tallahassee, Brian Joseph and Kevin Timothy, both of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Gary Christopher, Yuma, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral and Cremation Tribute Center-N.E. St. Petersburg.
