James "Jim" R Guckin
November 5th, 1930 - July 11th, 2015
Guckin, James R 84 of Largo, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015, with his loving wife, Diane, by his side. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, on November 5, 1930 to the late James J Guckin. James graduated from Bryant College in Providence, RI. He was a partner in the accounting firm Rodrigues, Guckin, &Tobojka in New Bedford, MA. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. In his later years, one of his greatest pleasures was to play senior softball with the Gulfport Boomerangs. James is survived by his wife, Diane, of 30 years; brothers, Charles and Harold; children, Jeff, Jay, and Judy; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, and he is predeceased by his granddaughter, Kelsey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association. There will be a memorial service on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:30AM, at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK St N, St Petersburg 33704, with interment at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.
