Murphy, Dorothy, 91, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday, July 15th at Bayfront Medical Center. She was born in Franklin, PA and moved to St. Petersburg in 1980 from Philadelphia, PA where she met her husband of 57 years, James Murphy Sr. She was a Veteran of the Army Nurse Corps., having served in WWII. She was a graduate of the University of PA and a registered nurse. She was a member of the Women?s Overseas Service League, the Jane A. Delano Women?s American Legion Post, Tampa Bay Unit Nurses Alumnae Association, and the Hospital of University of PA. She was a member of the Methodist faith. She was predeceased by her husband, James Murphy, Sr. She is survived by her son, James Murphy Jr. of St. Petersburg; 8 nephews, and 3 nieces. A visitation will be held at Anderson-McQueen Funeral & Cremation Center, 2201 Dr. M L King St. N., on Friday July 20th from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 11am.
