Cushing, Ruby M., age 87 passed away in her sleep at Sabal Palms Nursing Center in Largo on Friday, Sept 7, 2007. Born in Smithville, NY on April 24, 1920, she and her husband Arthur moved to Pinellas Park in 1958 upon his retirement from the U.S. Coast Guard and to Largo in 2006. Ruby was one of the founders of the Girl?s Club of Pinellas Park, also very active in the Ladies Auxiliary in Elks Lodges 1224 and 2217. She and her husband were active in the Seminole Sams Camping Club and also spend many enjoyable summers as campground hosts in the Jefferson National Forest in Wyetheville, VA. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Arthur, a son Robert Barbara, two daughters, Sue Albert Clarke, and Bonnie Ed Ketcham, four granddaughters, two great grandsons, a great great-granddaughter, and many loving extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday September 11 at 6pm. 1st United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park 9025 - 49th Street North; Pinellas Park. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncost. 5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760.
