April 16th, 1938 - December 5th, 2007
Cutshall, Darrell W., 69, of St. Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in 1938 his family moved to Florida in the 1940?s from Richwood, WV. A graduate of Northeast High School in 1956, Darrell was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Pinellas Park. He retired from the St. Petersburg Times in July, 2000 as an Editorial Assistant after 17 years of service. He wrote the Military News and the column ?Good for You?, as well as coordinating the ?Weather Watchers?. He graduated from DeKalb Community College in Atlanta, Georgia with an Associate in Science degree where he was Phi Theta Kappa and a recipient of the award ?Who?s Who? among college students. He loved reading, writing, traveling, woodworking, people, and he never met a stranger. He proudly served in the US Navy, US Air Force and US Army National Guard of Georgia. He is survived by his son, Steven Scott of Temple Terrace and his family Vera, Julie, and Debbie; his sister Verlyne Padot of Ocala, Florida; Aunt Tommie Dodge of Zephyrhills, and several nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 2:00 ? 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Center ? NE St. Petersburg Chapel, 2201 Dr. M. L. King Street North where the Funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 10th, 2007. Interment with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family suggested memorial contributions to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760 or the ASPCA. Those he left behind are saddened by his departure?However ? the memories you hold are yours to keep forever. His loving, caring and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew him and had the honor of experiencing the man?Darrell W. Cutshall. My Dad?My best friend.
