Barrett, John S. "Jack", 78, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at home under Hospice care. He was born on November 5, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA and moved here in 1970 with his family. Jack worked for the St. Petersburg Times and Evening Independent as an artist. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years: Louise M. Barrett; a daughter: Stephanie Klima, both of St. Petersburg, FL; his brother: William Barrett of Pittsburgh, PA and two grandchildren: Michelle and Jesse Klima, both of St. Petersburg, FL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7th at Anderson-McQueen Funeral & Cremation Centers-NE St. Petersburg Chapel-2201 Dr. MLK St. N. from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 8th at First Unity Church-460 46th Ave N. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation-of America 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001, Hospice of The Florida Suncoast-5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760, and the Arts Center-719 Central Avenue, St Petersburg, Florida 33701.
