Donald R. Banks, 78, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines, Florida. Don was born in Kingston, New York and moved to St. Petersburg in 2008 from Whitehall, New York. He was a Construction Supervisor at Campbell House Construction Company in Florida, New York and was a member of the St. Petersburg Open Bible Church. He was a volunteer with the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers on the Okeechobee Waterway and the Manatee Protection System. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #14 of St. Petersburg and VFW Post #1653 in NY. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jeanne E.; 4 Sons, Timothy (Karen) Jones of Granville, New York, Brian Banks of Akron, Ohio, Michael (LeeAnn) Banks of Jericho, Vermont, Douglas (Christine) Jones of St. Petersburg, 5 daughters, Barbara Banks, Bette Banks, Ellen (Alfred) Castro of Valrico, Florida, Beverly Banks, Brenda Sue (Mel Belden) Banks of Whitehall, New York; 20 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. $(document).ready(function(){ });
