August 28th, 1918 - June 20th, 2002
Geary, George D.'Bud', 83, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at his residence. He came here in 1924 from his native Steubenville, Ohio. He was a 1936 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and a 1939 graduate of St. Petersburg Jr. College. He owned and operated the former Nu-Way Cleaners which his father built in 1924 at 9th Ave. North and 15th St. until 1966. He then worked at Publix Supermarkets at the Lakeview Shopping Center and then Disston Plaza and retired in 1986. He was an Army Veteran of WWII where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was an Eagle scout and worked in Scouting for many years and was an assistant scout master with Troop 90 at Norwood Elementary School. He was a member of St. Paul''s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alma G., two sons, Michael G. of Sylva, NC, Thomas W. of Palm Harbor, FL, one daughter, Jean G. Hiestand of St. Petersburg, one sister, Dorothy J. Geary, of St. Petersburg, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. $(document).ready(function(){ });
