Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Knox, 93, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Bon Secours Place. She was born in Franklin, Massachusetts on November 17, 1919, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Theresa G. (Manning) Fagan. Betty came to the St. Petersburg area in 1953 from Connecticut. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Rhode Island College of Education, where she majored in science and education, and taught school locally for many years. A former member of the Kenneth City Womans Club, and an avid bridge player. Survivors include 4 daughters, Cheryl K. Martin (John) of St. Petersburg; Barbara Creamer (Greg) of St. Petersburg; Kathleen Yale (Art) of Tallahassee, Florida; and Mary Louise Beasley (Kevin) of Saugus, Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Maurice "Jack" Knox.
