Matthew J. McShane, Sr., 53, of 6429 Flamingo Way So. St. Petersburg, FL, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in the emergency room at Palms Of Pasadena Hospital. He moved to St. Petersburg in 1958 from his native Greenwich, CT and was a Sr. Case Worker for the FL Department Of Children and Families in St. Petersburg. Prior to that, he was a Lieutenant with the Madeira Beach, FL Police Department for eleven years and a fire fighter with the St. Pete Beach Fire Department. He was a former director of the Police Explorer Posts in Treasure Island and Madeira Beach. He was a 1968 graduate of Boca Ciega High School, a graduate of St. Petersburg Jr. College with an A.A. degree in Engineering, and a graduate of the University Of South Florida with a degree in Criminology. He was a Sr. Warden at Nitram Masonic Lodge #188 F&AM; Treasurer of the Bethlehem Chapter #169 OES; a 32nd Degree Mason at the Scottish Rite in Tampa; a member of Egypt Temple Shrine, the Masters and Wardens Association of the 21st Masonic District, the Order Of The Amaranth, and Selama Grotto. He was Treasurer of Cub Scout Pack #300 in Gulfport. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Veronica L. "Roni;" two sons, Matthew J., Jr.; Frederick L. "Scooter" George, III both of St. Petersburg; three daughters, Shawna L. (Mark W.) Renella of Port Richey, FL; Janice M. McShane and Heather L. McShane; his mother, Katherine M. McShane all of St. Petersburg; and two grandchildren, Cadence A. Renella and Nicholas A. Renella. $(document).ready(function(){ });
