June 19th, 1941 - December 12th, 2003
William S. O'Brien, 62, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at home. He moved to St. Petersburg in 1958 from his native Syracuse, NY and was a nuclear engineer with Florida Power Corp. He was a 1968 graduate of the University Of Florida with a Bachelor Of Nuclear Engineering Sciences degree. For the last six years, he and his late wife of 41 years, Sally Anne, who died November 9, 2003, spent their summers traveling and working on the Horse Prairie Ranch in Montana. He was the president of the Florida Power Retirees Association, Past President of the Florida Power Club, Past President of the Gulfport Lions Club, Past Master of Gulf Beach Lodge #291 F&AM where he was chairman of the Scholarship Fund, Past Demolay Dad advisor, and was actively involved in the Pink Streets Homeowners' Association. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven F. and Olga F. O'Brien of Bunnell, FL, one daughter, Penny O'Brien of Palm Coast, FL and five grandchildren, Mandi, Marcie, Joey, Jake and Trevor.
