Robert E. Rasmussen
October 26th, 1928 - July 1st, 2005
Robert E. "Bob" Rasmussen 76, passed away peacefully July 1, 2005. He was born October 26, 1928 in Norwood, Massachusetts. He was married to Dolores "Dee" Cecelia Greger January 12, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. They met in Omaha when he was stationed at Offitt AFB. Bob and Dee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January, 2005. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1968 and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska with his wife and five children and worked for Bankers Life Nebraska. The family moved to Elgin, Illinois in 1973 where he was a General Agent with Bankers Life Nebraska. The family moved in 1983 to St. Petersburg, Florida. Bob and Dee purchased a printing company which later was renamed Ameri-Print and established a successful family business there for over 15 years. He was a member of The Cathedral Of St. Jude The Apostle, Air Force Sergeants Association, and the Kiwanis Club Of Boca Ciega. He loved the Florida sunshine, fishing, yard sales, and spending time with his twelve grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Rasmussen; 2 brothers, Roy and Richard Rasmussen; his 5 children and their spouses, Michael and Lynn Rasmussen; Annette Roath; Thomas and Connie Rasmussen; Tricia and Ted Strand; and Deanne and Grady Driver. He had twelve grandchildren, Jena, Derek, Ted, Matthew, Josh, Nicholas, Sam, Shana, Ana, Ryan, Mitchell, and Jack. A devoted and loving husband, beloved father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by many near and far.
