Born in Croton on Hudson, NY 29 February 1924, Mrs. Roy traversed the country from NY to North Dakota to Hawaii to Florida with her husband Lt. Col. Francis P. Sheridan, as an army wife, raising 6 children along the way and settling in St. Petersburg in 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis and daughter Karen Sheridan Hardin. These are words we have often heard her say as she encouraged us to leave this world in better shape than it would have been without us. She expected us to live as she did, giving more than she received.Giving to her first husband she outlived. Giving to 6 children, one of whom she outlived.Giving to her church as a Eucharistic Minister and to her patients as a nurse. Giving to people in need at the Free Clinic and by reading to the blind.Giving to her family, friends and neighbors.Hers was a life well lived. Well lived so that her yesterdays were memories of happiness and her tomorrows were visions of hope. She is in her final tomorrow, living her final vision of hope. Her fulfilled hope to be bathed in peace and love. Much was given to Velma, much was expected of Velma and much was accomplished by Velma. Thank you Velma. In lieu of flowers please donate to:St. Petersburg Free Clinic 863 3 Ave. No. 33701 $(document).ready(function(){ });
