Fred "Bill" William Schlotterlein
August 28th, 1928 - April 11th, 2009
Fred William "Bill" Schlotterlein, Jr., 80, of Ridge Manor, Florida and formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at home. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and moved to St. Petersburg in 1958, and moved to Ridge Manor in 1978. He was a 1953 graduate of the University Of Florida with a degree in Architecture and was a registered architect in five states, who designed many prominent buildings. He played minor league baseball with the Cleveland Indians and baseball with the Army. He was a PFC in the Army and served in Japan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucy; 3 daughters, Patti Schlotterlein of Madeira Beach, Cindy Nielsen of St. Petersburg, Susan Hines of Dade City; 1 son, Bill, III of St. Petersburg; 10 grandchildren, Matt and Emerson Halstead, Nicole Nielsen Jones, Rob Nielsen, Andrew and Anne Schlotterlein, Brandi, Shelby, Sydney and Colten Hines and 1 great grandson Austin Jones. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Irene and a sister, Mary Bradley.
